What is snoring?

Snoring is especially noisy in adults with weight problems, the tongue losing its soft palate and small tongue strains and narrowing the pale side of the mouth during sleep. Sometimes it sounds funny, but it can be a messenger of serious diseases.

Sleep Apnea

Snoring can be seen 30% in adults after the age of 40. For many people snoring can be accepted normal, it may be a sign of sleep apnea.

Symptoms of Sleep Apnea

It is called Sleep Apnea, when the organs of the respiratory tract lose their tension and clog the breathing path completely.

Diseases Caused by Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea may be result of many diseases. Specially it can cause diseases like heart and vascular diseases, paralysis, myocardial infarction, hypertension, heart failure, cardiac dysrhythmia and depression. When investigate people with sleep apnea, the difference in date rate if 6 times more compare to a healthy person. If the sleep apnea does not get treated it can cause sudden death during sleep.

Diagnosis and Treatment Techniques

People who are constantly and severely snoring, who are aware of the state of breathing in their sleep, and who are tired in the morning even though when they have enough time of sleep must certainly seek for medical advice.

For people who have symptoms of sleep apnea must stay over a night in the sleep laboratory, must do a sleeping test. While doing a sleeping test, for an entire night person’s body functions are reviewed by a sleep technician.

To be able to determine sleep periods as standard electroencephalogram (EEG), electrooculogram (EOG), electromyogram (EMG) reports, records the breathing air zone by wearing tiny nose equipment, determine breathing movements by wearing belts which placed on the breast and stomach and finally records level of oxygen and heart rhythm by with finger latch detectors. The results of sleep apnea which ahs been recorded over a night is determined by physicians who have certificate about sleeping disease. The treatment is given inside mouth apparatus or CPAP (mask treatment) based on the patient’s examination findings, report of sleeping test and associated disease.
