Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure for the removal of resistant fat tissue that does not respond to dieting and other weight loss methods and for the better shaping of body lines in certain areas of the body such as the abdomen, thighs, hips and face. Nutritional habits and lifestyle are the most important factors in people’s weight gain and loss.

To lose extra weight a proper diet and exercise and regular life style is restriction. However, even those who fulfill these requirements may have persistent fat deposits that are not lost. Areas of abdominal, waist, hip, thigh external and internal side, such as the knee, are areas of fat accumulation resistant to dieting and exhaustion. Excess fat in these regions is eliminated to some extent by diet and exercise, and more exercise and diet results in a deterioration of the body’s overall metabolism, rather than thinning in these regions.

People who are considering liposuction surgery should not be in pregnancy or breastfeeding period. Anyone without any health problems can benefit from liposuction. It is important to remember that as the age progresses, the elasticity of the skin disappeared and that older skin may require additional operations such as stretching the skin to get as effective results as younger skin.

Liposuction may be risky for individuals with diabetes, serious heart-to-lung problems and circulatory problems, for those who have had surgery in the past near the area where the procedure is to be performed. It is very important for your general health to inform the surgeon about your medical history in such cases.

How is it applied?

In the classical liposuction method, small incisions of 1-2 mm are made in the area to be thinned and the resistant oils are melted by various methods. Cleaved and dissolved oils are removed by vacuuming through fine cannula or injector.

Surgery gets performed in the hospital environment in the operating room and under anesthesia specialist’s supervisor. Combining local anesthesia and sedetion (putting a sleep from vascular) is preferred. Local anesthesia can be applied to a limited area. The surgery’s duration regarding to the vacuumed area can be last 1-5 hours. Cannula insertion holes are usually not sewn or put 1-2 stitches.

Sometimes cannulas are used to puncture areas with special fine pores (resistance), which is used to empty the accumulated serum. Depending on the extent of the operation, it is possible to leave the hospital on the same day or after 24 hours.

After operation usually goes comfortable. The pain is pretty much low and it can be treated with medicine. At the end of the operation, a special bandage is applied to the areas where vacuum is applied and the patient is dressed with a special corset. Patient continues to wear corset following 5-6 weeks. There can be purplish colour changes on the vacuumed areas. There can be swelling, tingle and burn feelings. These diasappear by themseved in 3 weeks. Surgical scars also become vague within 2-6 months.
