Professor Dr. İsmail Özdemir
is a highly qualified specialist in ENT diseases and head-neck surgery with
extensive experience. After graduating from Ankara Atatürk High School in 1974,
he completed the English preparatory course at METU and then entered Hacettepe
University, Eskişehir Faculty of Medicine. He graduated from Hacettepe
University in 1980 and later received his ENT specialization training at
Hacettepe University in 1984.
After
completing his military service as an ENT specialist at Ankara Mevki Hospital,
Dr. İsmail Özdemir started working at the Ordu State Hospital in 1986. In 1989,
he was appointed as the chief assistant at Izmir Atatürk Training and Research
Hospital, and by 1991, he became the assistant chief, later obtaining his
associate professorship in 1994. In June 2008, he became the founder and head
of the ENT Department at Namık Kemal University Medical Faculty, where he also
served as the Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences and a member
of the university Senate. He left this position in 2010.
Professor Dr.
İsmail Özdemir has vast experience in pediatric ENT diseases, microsurgery of
ear diseases, endoscopic treatments of sinus and nasal diseases, rhinoplasty,
and head-neck surgery. He has played an active role in training over 40 ENT
specialists in both theoretical and practical fields.
Professor Dr.
İsmail Özdemir has also received training at prestigious institutions such as
the University of Cologne (Germany), the Free University of Brussels (Belgium),
and Johns Hopkins University (USA), and has conducted observations in Head-Neck
Surgery at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute (Paris, France).
